Event Highlights

Wednesday

Wednesday will start with the golf tournament at the Fallon Golf Course followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new monument installed in front of the Fire Station. Following the ribbon cutting, a reunion spaghetti dinner will be held at the Fire Station.

Thursday

Thursday will start off with manipulative skills followed by a presentation by Clark County Deputy Chief Jeff Buchanan titled – Emotional Intelligence.

Thursday afternoon will have several training opportunities. There will be three sessions of hands on rope rescue program limited to 10 persons (early sign ups will be a good bet). Live fire training this year will include an F-18 prop supplied by Federal Fire at Naval Air Station Fallon. All participants for live fire must attend the pre-burn briefing to participate in live burns. LN Curtis will be putting on a hands-on extrication course both days with several vehicles for use. Chris Hawley and Rob Schnepp will be teaching a three-part Hazardous Materials course with each session focusing on a different element of Hazmat Operations. Finally, the most exciting addition to the NSFA conference will be the inclusion of an Emergency Medical Service course, which we are working with the instructor and state EMS board to offer with CEU’s.

Thursday will conclude with a BBQ dinner and a trap competition shoot for all those with a keen eye.

Friday

Friday will start with the manipulative skills competition with courses continuing from Thursday.  Friday will end with another BBQ dinner and horseshoes.
