Memorial

Since its completion in 1994, the Nevada Firefighters Memorial, Inc., has honored Nevada’s fallen firefighters at an annual ceremony held at the Nevada Firefighters Memorial in Carson City’s Mills Park on the last Saturday of National Fire Prevention Week in October.

The Nevada Firefighters Memorial, Inc. may recognize up to five individuals for distinguished service to the Nevada Fire Service each year. Selection is based on a points system using specific selection criteria. Nominations must include complete documentation.

The Nevada Firefighters Memorial was built using funds donated by individuals, corporations and businesses and the career and volunteer fire departments of Nevada.

The Nevada Firefighters Memorial is the official Nevada memorial to volunteer and career firefighters who die “in the line of duty.”

The Board of Directors of the Nevada Firefighters Memorial, Inc., a tax-exempt, non-profit organization, manages the Nevada Firefighters Memorial, its annual ceremony and all related business. Funds to support placing plaques on the Nevada Firefighters Memorial, maintenance of the memorial, the annual ceremony and Memorial administration are provided only through tax-deductible donations that can be made to:
